German Exchanges

The South Australian German Exchange organises an exchange program between students from Adelaide and students from Bavaria and Hamburg.
This is an exciting opportunity for students of German (usually in Year 11, but sometimes in Year 10, if the school recommends the student) to host a German student for 10 weeks, and then to travel to Germany for 10 weeks over the Summer holidays.
Students attend school, spend a wonderful German Christmas, and become part of a German family.

Ask your teacher if you would like more information.

If you would like to participate in an exchange, but your family is going through a period of financial difficulty, it may be possible to get some financial assistance. All applications for funding must be lodged by the student's German teacher.

Any event, competition or subsidy that is supported by SAGTA is funded through the fees of its membership;
it is a condition of application for any of these that the teacher is a current financial member of SAGTA.
